Matt Arnold Named  Head Football Coach

Blanchet  is proud to announce the hiring of Matt Arnold as their new head football coach. Arnold moves into this position after serving as varsity offensive and defensive line coach under Jeff Flood, Blanchet’s head football coach since 2002. Flood recently accepted the head coaching position at North Salem High School.

 “We are very excited about Coach Arnold taking over our football program. In his time here, he has established himself as a hard-working, talented coach who can motivate our students,” remarked Mr. Weber.

“As head football coach at Blanchet, I will dedicate myself to building a program that is second to none,” said Arnold. “Through hard work and discipline the student athletes will develop a great sense of pride in being good citizens, good students and good athletes, successful not only in football but in the game of life,” he stated.

“Coach Arnold will work very hard to build team unity, encouraging every student to participate and I am very confident he will take Blanchet Catholic School to the next level as we all work together in support of him and his program,” said Mr. Miller.

Number of years coaching varsity sports: 7

Experience coaching at other schools, education, and personal experience playing sports: I previously coached football, softball and track at North Salem High. I have coached multiple Boys and Girls Club football and basketball teams. I have worked as a camp counselor, sport camp director, after school sports program coordinator and mentor for at risk youth. I played football on scholarship for Idaho State University.

What is your coaching philosophy? I want my players to learn the core values of teamwork. Playing sports is proof that hard work pays off and that goals can be achieved.

What do you do outside of coaching (Work & Family)? I love being with my family (wife Doralinda, daughter Sofia, son Vincente.) I really enjoy the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. I'm a fan of all sports. I love to listen to and play music.

What do you enjoy most about Blanchet? The family atmosphere and the quality of the people I am surrounded by.
