Experience coaching at other schools, education, and personal experience playing sports: Ten years coaching varsity football and basketball at Amity High School. I hold a BA from Linfield College. I received a varsity letter in football at Cal State in Fullerton and two varsity letters in basketball at Linfield.
What is your Coaching Philosophy? Player improvement
What do you do outside of coaching (Work & Family)? Manager of Honig's Whistle Stop, West Coast Branch. I am married and have two daughters.
What do you enjoy most about Blanchet? The students.
As a Blanchet coach, what is one of your goals for this school year? Win the Tri River Conference.
Coach Name: John Andreas III
Number of Years Coaching at Blanchet: 9
Number of years coaching varsity sports: 21
Experience coaching at other schools, education, and personal experience playing sports: Mr. Andreas graduated from Portland State University. He has coached 5th and 6th grade boys basketball at St John Fisher, freshmen football at Jesuit High School, J.V. boys basketball at OES, girls varsity basketball at OES, Valley Catholic, Barlow and Blanchet. Mr. Andreas reached 300 wins last season as a varsity girls basketball coach.
What is your Coaching Philosophy? He would like for his players to learn that they need to work as hard as they can and be responsible as players and people. They need to work together as a team.
What do you do outside of coaching (Work & Family)? Spending time with his children and grandchildren. Running and lifting weights on a regular basis is important to him. He also enjoys watching many different sports.
What do you enjoy most about Blanchet? Working with the kids to help them become better players and people.
As a Blanchet coach, what is one of your goals for this school year? To help his players develop their abilities to the maximum and bring them all together as a team.
