Weber coached four years at Valley Catholic for girls varsity soccer and boys
varsity tennis. While at Blanchet, he has coached girls soccer for six years
and one year of boys tennis.
What is your Coaching Philosophy? Teach kids to be excellent in all they do.
What do you do outside of
coaching (Work & Family)?
Mr. Weber is married and has two daughters. He likes to read and play golf.
What will you enjoy most about Blanchet? Working with the kids.
As a Blanchet coach, what is one of your goals for this school year? Qualify a team member for state in boys tennis.
Girls Tennis
Coach Name: LaVonne Eliason
Number of Years Coaching at Blanchet: 3
Number of years coaching varsity sports: 3
Experience coaching at other schools, education, and personal experience playing sports: Mrs. Eliason has a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education for Frostburg State College in Maryland. She worked for the Department of Army for ten years as a Recreation Specialist at the military District of Washington, in Korea and Germany. She has played competitive tennis on a women's and mixed league for twelve years.
What is your Coaching Philosophy? First and foremost, the game of tennis is a lifetime sport and should be fun to play. Tennis etiquette and sportsmanship are very important to follow on and off the court. My coaching philosophy includes teaching tennis skills correctly and in turn the players will compete well in matches. I want my players to enjoy the game so that they will play long after high school is over.
What do you do outside of coaching (Work & Family)? Mrs. Eliason likes to walk, play tennis, read, travel and go to off Broadway plays and concerts in Portland.
What do you enjoy most about Blanchet? The players are great to coach. The team gets a lot of support from the school and support staff.
As a Blanchet coach, what is one of your goals for this school year? To encourage more participation and grow the tennis program at Blanchet.
