The win came down to the last minute when the girls made a pivotal steal and senior Tori Hittner made a clutch basket for the Cavs. With a few free throws dropped by junior Sami Belleque, the win was out of reach for the Hilanders. The girls will travel to North Bend High School to play Valley Catholic at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 1.
The boys varsity team took down the Prospectors of Grant Union high school in a blowout game with a final score of 72-50. Blanchet pulled away after halftime with junior Brent Counts and sophomore Patrick Counts leading the offensive charge. Both Counts boys scored over 20 points each.
