Girls Basketball to Play Burns in the First Round of State

Congratulations to the girls varsity basketball team who beat Santiam Christian in the final round of conference playoffs with a score of 44-32. They finished 2nd overall in the PacWest Conference with a league record of 15-3 and an overall record of 22-4. Junior Sami Belleque led the team in scoring with 15 points. She also led the team with 9 steals. Senior Bianca Russell was 2nd in steals to Belleque with a total of 5.  She also had 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Junior Emily Copple pulled down 7 rebounds, had 4 steals, 2 assists and added 9 points.

The Lady Cavs had a spectacular team showing in their last conference game. They will advance to the first round of state championship playoffs as a #4 seed and take on #5 Burns at home on Friday, February 24. The game is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for students. Only OSAA passes will be accepted. For more information about the OSAA 3A championship playoffs, visit OSAA Basketball.

School will be dismissed early on Friday to allow students to watch the game. An email will be sent to parents on Wednesday with complete details.
