1. Good morning, today is Friday, May 9, and we are on Regular Schedule. 2. Sports today include: JV Baseball vs. Santiam Christian. 3. Congratulations to Emily Hillmer who placed first in the 3000m run to qualify for the State Meet, and to all the other participants who placed in their individual events. Great job Cavs! 4. Lunchtime meetings today: Boys Golf meet in Mrs. Turner’s room immediately following 4th period; All girls planning on playing high school basketball next year, please meet in Mr. Andreas’ room; All 8th grade thru 11th grade students interested in taking choir next year, meet in the art room. 5. Students in grades 7-11 are encouraged to apply for two merit-based scholarships: the Robert D. MacEwen Scholarship and the Robert G. Weber Scholarship. Both scholarships require an essay, which is due May 23. A scholarship flyer with more information, including the essay topics, is available online and from the receptionist. Please turn in completed essays to Ms. O’Bannon. 6. Do you want to help save three lives? Then sign up today to give blood on May 15. Students should sign up with National Honor Society members Dustin Juhring, Cody Taylor, Maraya Sullivan and Matt Lieder. Donors must be 16 or older and weigh at least 110 lbs. Sixteen year olds must have a signed parent permission form. Attention NHS members – Ms. O’Bannon needs you to volunteer on May 15, the day of the blood drive. Sign up for a shift today – the list is located on her office door. 7. This weekend is your last chance to see “Beauty and the Beast.” Tickets for tonight’s show are sold out, and there are only 25 tickets left for tomorrow’s 2 o’clock matinee. Tickets can be purchased at the front desk. 8. Happy Birthday today to Lily Platzer and Melanie Pollard and over the weekend to Stephanie Chesemore and Daniell Tea-Pelley. Have a great day!
