We at Blanchet Catholic School commit ourselves to creating a Catholic preparatory academic community dedicated to providing a quality education for the whole person.
The Course Catalog sets forth the graduation requirements and course offerings of Blanchet Catholic School. Parents and students are encouraged to read and utilize this information to make informed choices about course offerings for the following school year in light of future goals, academic readiness, and graduation requirements.

Middle School Courses
Blanchet Catholic School requires 21 credits for high school promotion. Included in the list below are all of the requirements for a middle school certificate . All students in grades 6 through 8 are required to complete 5 hours of community service for each year they attend Blanchet Catholic High School. The benefit of attending a middle school on a high school campus is the opportunity for our middle school students to take some high school courses, Under certain circumstances, high school courses taken in middle school may be used to meet high school graduation requirements.
Religion: 3.0 credits Mathematics: 3.0 credits
Social Studies: 3.0 credits English: 3.0 credits
Science: 3.0 credits Health: 1.5 credits
Electives: 3.0 credits Physical Education: 1.5 credits
High School Courses
Blanchet Catholic School requires 26 credits for high school graduation. Included in the list below are all of the requirements for a high school diploma for the State of Oregon and, in addition, those specifically relating to the mission of Blanchet Catholic School. All students in grades 9 through 12 are required to complete 10 hours of community service for each year they attend Blanchet Catholic High School. High school courses taken as an 8th grader at Blanchet Catholic School may, under certain circumstances, be used to meet high school graduation requirements.

(a) Students are required to take religion every semester that they attend Blanchet Catholic High
School. Students transferring to Blanchet Catholic School are not required to earn the full four
credits of religion credit.
(b) Students must complete three credits of math from Algebra I and beyond.
(c) Includes World History (1.0 credit), United States History (1.0), Government (0.5), Economics
(0.5), Global Issues (0.5) and Senior Seminar (0.5).
(d) Must include at least two credits of lab science.
(e) This must be two credits of the same foreign language.
(f) Students who play a varsity high school sport may apply for 0.5 PE credit waiver of this
requirement.
(g) Courses in excess of the requirement in a subject will count towards the elective requirement.
(h) High school courses taken by eighth graders at Blanchet Catholic School may be considered by
the administration in fulfilling high school graduation requirements. Students can appeal for the
credit.
