Scott Meyer
Dr. Meyer received his Bachelor of Science in chemistry at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly). He then earned his PhD at the University of Arizona, studying bio-organic chemistry. His research focused on developing methods to discover new biosensors and pharmaceuticals using biological chemistry. After conducting postdoctoral research on HIV/AIDS, Dr. Meyer taught chemistry at several colleges and universities, including Benedictine University in Lisle, IL, and Willamette University here in Salem. Throughout his time at these schools, Dr. Meyer led a bio-organic research program in collaboration with undergraduate students.
At Blanchet, Dr. Meyer teaches Physical Science and Chemistry. He also mentors the Science Olympiad team and coaches mid-high swimming.
